Impact of Exports on GDP and Trade Balance in Iraq For the period 2005-2005
Abstract
Foreign trade is of great importance in the overall economic activity and it is one of the vital sectors in any economy. The obvious effect of foreign trade on exports and imports on the internal and external economic indicators is clear. The study aims at clarifying the impact of exports on two indicators of internal and external economic performance using Standard analysis tools. The study reached the following:
- The internal index: The increase in exports alone with the stability of other factors, it contributes to increase the gross domestic product by (0.364) billion dollars.
- The external indicator: The increase in exports in one unit with the stability of other factors, it contributes to increase the surplus in the trade balance by (0.462) billion dollars.
